Genuine Viton\u00ae Spinoff to Chemours<\/h2>\n

In July of 2015, the Chemours Company spun off from Dupont\u2122 as an independent corporation. They are now an international chemical company that leads in titanium technologies, fluoroproducts, and many other chemical solutions. Prior to this spin-off, genuine Viton\u00ae was made by DuPont\u2122. However, with the emergence of Chemours, many of its chemical solutions went under the Chemour\u2019s umbrella in addition to Viton\u00ae such as:<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Opteon\u00ae
\n\u2022 Teflon\u00ae

What is Genuine Viton\u00ae?<\/h2>\n

Viton\u00ae is a type of FKM fluoroelastomer that meets ASTM standards and covers about 80% of this type of rubber. However, Viton\u00ae has become such a leading name in FKM, our customers will often ask for it by brand name. Viton\u00ae is basically to FKM o-rings what Kleenex is to tissues.<\/p>\n

How Does This Affect Viton\u00ae O-Rings?<\/h2>\n

The important thing to remember is that the GENUINE VITON\u00ae MATERIAL HAS NOT CHANGED. The Viton\u00ae you purchased several years ago is the same Viton\u00ae we offer today. It is still called Viton\u00ae, but instead of DuPont\u2122 Viton\u00ae it\u2019s now Chemours Viton\u00ae or sometimes just Genuine Viton\u00ae. The material still has the same quality and consistency standards that it had under the DuPont\u2122 name.<\/p>\n
