Global O-Ring and Seal was founded by Bill and Rhonda DeSpain on February 11, 2008, marking the start of a new chapter built on entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to service excellence. The couple, who met in high school, brought complementary strengths to the venture: Bill’s technical expertise from 17 years in the sealing industry at his father in law’s company, American Seal, and Rhonda’s steady partnership in building the business.

Bill saw an opportunity in Houston for a sealing distributor that put customer relationships first. From day one, that meant a simple promise: fast, reliable service and a team invested in long term partnerships with customers. By 2011, Global had moved from startup to viable enterprise, setting the stage for the next phase of growth.

Brian DeSpain, the third generation of his family in the sealing industry, joined Global O-Ring and Seal in 2012. He brought a Business Management degree from Texas A&M and hands on experience from founding his own athletic equipment company, including time spent overseas managing supply chain and quality control.

Brian quickly became a driving force behind modernizing the company, leading the implementation of a new ERP system and introducing sales, marketing, and analytics tools that sharpened Global’s operations. In March 2018, Bill and Rhonda retired and Brian was named President, with his wife Lauren DeSpain joining as Vice President. Under their leadership, Global expanded its inventory to more than 125 million O-rings, earned ISO 9001 certification, and built a reputation for same day shipping and deep product expertise across every major compound.

In August 2024, Brian transitioned to CEO to focus on long term strategy, and Jeff Korkowski, previously VP of Sales and Marketing, was promoted to President to lead daily operations. The move reflected a company built for its next stage of growth, without losing the customer first values it started with.

In 2026, Global O-Ring and Seal joined Marco Sealing Solutions, a leading distributor of high performance sealing products with operations in New Hampshire and Florida. The move extends Marco’s national footprint to Houston while keeping what customers already count on: the same team, the same 52,000 square foot facility, the same deep inventory, and the same fast, knowledgeable service Global has delivered since 2008.

“This is the right next chapter for Global and our team,” said Brian DeSpain, former owner of Global O-Ring and Seal. “Marco is a customer first business, sharing the same DNA from which we built Global. Joining them gives our team and our customers access to a bigger platform and more resources, while keeping the people, the service, and the Houston operation our customers already rely on.”

Joining Marco gives Global’s customers access to deeper OEM engineering expertise, custom material development including Marco’s proprietary Markez FFKM, and the backing of a company that has grown through 10 acquisitions while continuing to invest in technology and engineering. It is a new chapter built on the same foundation: strong relationships, fast answers, and a team that shows up for its customers.
